Abstract This paper has attempted to study the role of strategic and transformational leadership and its effects on project success in the context of effective change management. The population for this study includes people involved in the IT industry in Pakistan ensuring that the most relevant and pertinent population for data collection is engaged for the study, leading to the generation of relevant research findings. A total of 155 completed questionnaires were received, resulting in a response rate of 51.6 percent. The study is quantitative, based on a deductive approach with interpretive philosophy. Data analysis for this study was done using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) software. The analysis includes Cronbach alpha, regression analysis, one-way ANOVA, regression, Durbin Watson test, and some other important tests. The findings suggest that there exists a direct relationship between strategic leadership, transformational leadership, and project success. The mediation analysis of regression has been done using Preacher and Hayes model and it is concluded that change management mediates the relationship between project success and independent variables.
